Rumors of our demise have been greatly exaggerated. All's quiet while we put the finishing touches on our EP. Not much longer now, I swear. We're also planning to contribute tracks to upcoming compilations by Sugary Tea Records and Fuzzy Panda Records, because they're both awesome. We also might show up in some more unusual places. Cue the mystery radio drama music.

We'll be playing at the Velvet Lounge again on 8/17 with another lineup that we're honored to a part of (The Smittens, Red Pony Clock and Fishboy are also playing). Please be sure to come out to the show if you can. It will be Mike's last show with the band, as he's decided to step down, so it's likely to be our last show for quite a while. In other news, our EP is progressing, and should be wrapped up within the next few weeks!

The show at Staccato went great. Thanks to everyone who came. Be sure to check out the other acts: Cynthia Lin, Kris Racer, and Stupid Hero (we hear they're looking for a drummer- know someone?). In other news, we are indeed recording. The exact output of this recording is still to be determined, but whatever it is, this should be the cover: Yep, the unicorn is pretty much my favorite animal. Bred for its skills in rainbow-riding and rock & roll.

We've been added to two shows coming up in February. The first is at the Velvet Lounge, for the debut of North American and a trip from out-of-town Burbis. Also thank you very much to the amazing Dealership for showing us how to rock it West-coast style (and also lend us their guitar when ours broke down!) and to Brainfang for delivering their brand of white-boy R&B. I'm going to go ahead and post this, since it is all but final. The big news: Spudnik is playing it's comeback show Wednesday August 25, 2004 at the Velvet Lounge in DC. Fortunately, this venue is MetroRail-accessible. Unfortunately, this venue is always 21+, so all you minors will either have to stay at home or get in through covert ways that we would never (publicly) endorse. The even bigger news: The comeback show will be as the opening slot for NoCal IndiePoppers Dealership, which just happen to also be Phil's most favoritest band, playing the East Coast for the first time in promotion of their new album. This is destined to be a show which goes down in history, so please plan on stopping by and bringing as many people as you can! We will post more details as the develop, including the possibilities of Spudnik goodies which may or may not be available at the show. Stay tuned...

We will be playing at Third Rail Radio on WMUC (the University of Maryland campus radio station) on Sunday, March 16th. Also playing will be DC indiepoppers The Secret History and Villa Rosie. The show will be from 6:00pm until 9:00pm. You have three options to experience this show: 1) You can come see us play for free (a Google search for directions yielded this result. I don't pretend to know where it came from). 2) You can listen online at the WMUC web site. 3) You can tune in with a real radio, if you live within range. The frequency is 88.1 on the FM band. Please note that not listening to the show is not an option. Also, we've been practicing with a keyboard player, Ali. She may be playing at the WMUC show, depending on how well we can teach her the parts.

We are playing our first show, opening for fellow ODC band The Prisoner's Dilemma. The show will be at a party in College Park, at 7600 Adelphi Road. We will go on at 10:45. There is a reasonable cover at the door if you're planning on drinking. We have been practicing, and rocking hard in rehearsals.
