Spudnik plays a brand of melodic, guitar-heavy pop which often forays into retro sounds, vocal harmonies and synthesizer lines. Their influences include The Beatles, Dealership, Weezer, The Apples in Stereo, Fountains of Wayne and Beulah.

In Fall 2006, they will release their debut EP, Paper Hat Boat, on Fuzzy Panda Records. Samples can be heard at the downloads page. They have also been featured on several compilations (see the releases page).
